WeShift Institute

fostering the inner movement from me to We

An immersive 5-month awareness-based social change program designed to foster the inner movement from me to We. For mindfulness practitioners committed to growing awareness, building connectedness, and creating positive change.

Why WeShift?

As a global society, we are at a point where individual transformation is not enough to bring about the changes needed to serve humanity and the planet. If we are to address the urgent poly-crises of our times, we need to:

So that together we can catalyze our collective transformation for a more flourishing future

The Institute integrates a unique combination of knowledge and practices from the fields of contemplative science, and quantum science to foster the me to we cultural evolution so needed today.

This practice-focused capacity-building journey provides methods, tools, and support structures to:

Activating and unleashing our potential to co-create cultures of care, connection, and wellbeing

As a Fellow of the Institute, you will gain:

Better equipping you, as a change-maker, to activate and actualize meaningful transformation

Fundamentally, this me to we journey changes the way we relate with change and approach change-making, freeing us to respond to the daunting challenges of our times in new ways.  – Lisa Napora, PhD, WeShift Facilitator

What the Program Includes

Explore the WeShift Institute’s 6 spheres of engagement – the support structures and spaces designed to foster your inner journey from me to We.

Retreats In-person & Online

Inaugural 1-day Online Retreat: The opening retreat offers a unique opportunity to connect with one another and begin cultivating a sense of community. We will establish an ethos of intimacy and relationality, and ground our journey in the spirit of exploration, experimentation, practice and play! We will cover foundational topics for our me to We journey. Our time will include teaching, guided self-reflective exercises, live Q&A, small group break-outs, and opportunities to connect one-on-one.
Weekend In-person Retreat: The closing retreat runs from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch, at the Chapin Mill Retreat Center in Batavia, NY. Our time will include deep discussion, guided reflection, and sharing in beloved community to support integration. This is a time to celebrate your journey, to feel the culmination of your efforts, and experience a deep ritualized closing ceremony that will support your journey forward. Fellows have the opportunity to share presentations that highlight transformative milestones, key insights, and their personal visions for social change.

Virtual Sessions

Whole Group Sessions: We will meet virtually every other week for 90 minute sessions as a whole group with the facilitator. In this facilitated space, we will engage in new topics, guided self-reflection, and deepen our engagement and understanding through discussion. All sessions will be recorded and available for play back.
Small Group Sessions: Each Fellow will be connected with a small group of other Fellows who will meet virtually every other week for 90-minute sessions.  These circles will emphasize community, building peer-to-peer relationships, and creating emotionally safe spaces to support engagement with new content, sharing experiences, and learning with and from one another. A facilitation guide is provided for each session.

Online Learning Portal

All Fellows will receive access to a private online program portal with navigation to all spheres of program engagement. The portal is the holding space for the program’s 20 modules. Every module includes an exploration guide, module overview video, topics for the week, awareness-based practices, and practice-in-action protocols. Weekly interactive components include discussion boards for collective engagement, and a private journal space with the facilitator.

Guided Meditation &
Practice-in-Action

The WeShift Institute is an immersive experiential practice-focused journey. This 20-week 20-module journey is uniquely scaffolded to build our inner infrastructure, and foster me to We capacity-building.

Weekly practice entails 3 forms of engagement.

  1. Sitting Practice – A weekly recorded mediation will be provided, and daily sitting practice encouraged.
  2. Practice-in-Action – Carefully delineated process steps for moving from sitting practice to practice-in-action with others are provided each week. This unique ‘how to’ framework provides experiential guidance using tangible protocols to support action learning in the moment.
  3. Nature Immersion. Weekly reflection prompts aligned with each practice topic are provided. Time for solitary reflection in nature is encouraged.

Private Coaching

Opportunities for one-on-one virtual coaching sessions with the facilitator are available.

Two one-hour sessions will be offered during Pillar IV of the journey. This time can be used to process any dimension of your me to We experience. Share your thoughts and challenges in a confidential and supportive environment.

Social Change Actualization Process (SCAP)

This process is designed to support your personal me-to-We visions for social change – fostering clarity and insight, moving from vision, to intention, to practical application in your spheres of influence.

Meet Your Facilitator

What began 25 years ago as a deep impulse to understand the mind and the processes involved in growing self-awareness, became a journey devoted to transformation and practice-in-action in service to collective wellbeing. Integral to this journey has been extensive time in meditation retreat, and an in-depth exploration of mindfulness, metaphysics, ancient wisdom traditions, and Esoteric Psychology.  This led to becoming a practitioner of Esoteric Buddhism, which focuses on the transformative journey of evolving consciousness.

Pivotal observations fueled my commitment to fostering awareness-based social change. Specifically, the widespread suffering arising from: endemic division from overt power dynamics and oppression, to subtle separations reinforced by titles and status; the deepening crisis fueled by the pervasive ethos of self-centeredness; the fractured state of our systems that neglect collective well-being; and the focus on intellectual understanding over actionable, embodied practice, even within the mindfulness community. Deep questions emerged: How can we address our global crises if we continue to approach them from a self-focused perspective? What forms of practice and training are needed to co-create a flourishing future? How can we shift our focus from me to we?

The WeShift Institute is the result of years of living into these questions within our nonprofit, committed to collective practice-in-action. It is our hope this program meets people wherever they are on their journey, supports the capacity-building needed to foster the inner movement from me to We, and serves as a catalyst in the world. May WeShift together and ignite the possible.     With love and active hope, Lisa Napora.  MORE
